Receipts and expenses

Point the camera at a receipt and the details fill themselves in. Everything stays editable until the receipt goes on a claim.

Adding a receipt

1. Open the Receipts tab and tap Scan a receipt, or tap the + button, then Add a receipt.
2. Scan it with the camera, or import a photo or a PDF you already have. Or skip the app altogether: in any app that shows you a receipt, such as a parking app or your email, tap Share and choose Reclaim.
3. The merchant, date, total and any tax fill themselves in.

You can work through a stack in one go rather than one at a time, which is the difference between a two minute job on a Friday and an evening of it.

Fixing anything read wrong

Every field can be edited until the receipt goes on a claim. Where Reclaim is not confident about a figure it says so on the receipt rather than presenting a guess as a fact, so you know which ones to look at.

If the same shop comes out wrong every time, send us one of the receipts from the Help area in the app and we will look at it.

The same receipt twice

Import a receipt as a PDF and again as a screenshot and you have it twice, which means claiming it twice. Reclaim marks both as a possible duplicate, in the list and on the Report tab before you send. Open one to see the other, then delete one or say they are different.

It is a question, not a block. Two parking sessions on the same day are two receipts, and nothing is removed unless you remove it.

Fuel and the sandwich

Buy fuel and lunch on the same receipt and Reclaim claims the fuel and shows you exactly what it left out. You see the decision rather than having to trust it, and you can change it.

What happens after a claim

Receipts that went out on a claim are marked as submitted. They stay in the app and in any export you take, and the next claim will not pick them up again. If you need to send one a second time, resending a claim produces a clearly labelled copy and changes nothing.

Expenses without mileage

If you only claim expenses and never mileage, choose I only claim expenses in setup, or turn Track mileage off in Settings. The Inbox and Trips tabs go, the app opens on your receipts, and claims cover receipts alone.
