Denmark mileage rates

What you can claim per kilometre for business driving in Denmark, set by Skattestyrelsen under the skattefri befordringsgodtgørelse (LL § 9 B).

The rates in force now

In force from 1 January 2026.

Business mileage rates for Denmark
VehicleRate
Car 3.94 kr a kilometre for the first 20,000 kilometres · 2.28 kr a kilometre after that
Motorcycle 3.94 kr a kilometre for the first 20,000 kilometres · 2.28 kr a kilometre after that
Bicycle 0.64 kr a kilometre

Bands reset each calendar year on 1 January, so the higher band is available again from then.

These are the rates for business driving in your own vehicle, paid tax-free by an employer. Commuting between home and a fixed workplace is a different scheme with a different figure.

What that adds up to

15,000 business kilometres in a year comes to 59,100.00 kr (15,000 km at 3.94 kr a kilometre).

Keeping the record

Whatever the rate, the claim only stands up if the journeys behind it do. That means the date, where you went, how far, and why it was business. Reclaim records each trip as you drive, prices it at the rate above, and turns the lot into a claim you can send.

Rates change when Skattestyrelsen changes them. Reclaim picks new rates up without waiting for an app update, and old trips keep the rate that applied on the day they happened.
